PART TWO
Let’s dive into the exciting activities at Te Mona Tahiti Resort. First off, the resort’s size is perfect for us parents. It’s like a cozy little haven where we can keep an eye on our son without breaking a sweat. He is also aware of things he cannot do. For example, our son knows he can’t go swimming by himself or leave an area without informing us.
Now, let’s talk about the Lagoonarium. Fancy word, right? Basically, it’s a cool place where you can swim with tropical fish and explore the vibrant coral life. It’s like having your own private underwater adventure, minus the sharks and pirate treasure.
Oh, did I mention the resort has a gym? Well, I didn’t find out about that till day three! Fortunately, I had my trusty yoga matt and a free internet connection so I could still do my Yoga with Adriene on YouTube. For those who are thinking on staying at Te Mona Tahiti Resort and want to use the gym, you’ll find it on level 2 of the foyer. Oh, and you’ll need to take the lift.
Now, let’s talk about the weekends when the souvenir shop takes a siesta. Fear not, reader, for two lovely ladies appear in the middle of the resort selling black pearls. The prices for black pearls are like what you would expect to pay at the Papeete Market and if you take into consideration the taxi fare required to get to the market, then it is a lot cheaper.
Stand up paddleboarding.
Te Mona Tahiti Resort also has its own water activities for guests which makes it a lot easier to arrange and what is more there is no extra travel involved. So later in the week it was time for some aqua adventures! Stand-up paddleboarding, they said. It’ll be easy, they said.
Well, let me tell you, I have the balance skills of a newborn giraffe trying to walk in high heels. I spent more time kneeling and sitting than actually standing. However, what made stand up paddle-boarding super safe for extra anxious adventurers like me was the atoll which made the sea almost waveless. Plus there was a sandbar/reef not far from shore, so we could go snorkelling too.
Reef tour
We also embarked on a half-day reef tour. Dolphins and swimming with turtles were the highlights. The tour group consisted of a grand total of five guests, including us! This was a bonus for person like me who does not like to socialise with large groups of people.
So there you have it, the thrilling activities at Te Mona Tahiti Resort. From small resorts and paddleboarding follies to hidden pearls and reef adventures. If you missed part two, you can read it here.
